The
project of the Carlo Maria Martini Archives is a long-term work in progress, aiming to collect texts and images, audio and video records, by and about Martini, not only the ones that are already physically part of the Foundation, but also all the others that will be acquired in digital format from different archives, in observance of institutional production contexts and origins, in order to put them at disposal of the public.
The final result will be a digital archive heritage that will be easily available on line, by means of manifold search keys, endowed with reading itineraries, open to the general public.
On the occasion of the publication of the first volume of the
Opera Omnia , Le Cattedre dei non credenti (The Conference of not-Believers) , in which are collected the texts of the twelve conferences held in Milan between 1987 and 2002, we are proposing a selection of different kinds of archive materials – written papers, images, video and audio records –concerning this project, that was one of the most original and significant during Carlo Maria Martini’s episcopate in Milan.
